Dooars or Duars

Dooars or Duars are plains in the foothills of the east Himalayas in north east India and the major portion of it lies in the state of West Bengal in India. Duar means door and form the gateway to Bhutan and all the north eastern states of India. Some of the major town situated in the Dooars is Cooch Behar, Alipurduar and Jalpaiguri, Birpara in West Bengal and Tezpur, Bongaigaon, Goalpara, Barpeta, Dhubri in Assam. Some of the Major Tourist Attractions of duars Terai regions are Jaldapara Wildlife sanctuary, Buxa, Gorumara, Lataguri, Chapramari, Jhalong, Bindu, Paren, Hollong etc. We will organize the stay near any of the wild life centers and organize visit or safari to the watch towers of the park or Sanctuary like Jatraprasad Tower, Rhino Point, Chandrachur Tower or Chukchuki Bird observation point.



Jaldapara National Park or Jaldapara Wildlife Sanctuary is a national park situated at the foothills of Eastern Himalayas in Alipurduar Sub-Division of Jalpaiguri district in West Bengal and on the bank of river Torsa. Jaldapara is situated at an altitude of 61 m. and is spread across 216.51 km2 (83.59 sq mi) of vast grassland with patches of riverine forests. It was declared a sanctuary in 1941 for protection of the great variety flora and fauna. Today, it has the largest population of Indian one horned rhinoceros in the state, an animal threatened with extinction, and is a Habitat management area . The nearby Chilapata Forests is an elephant corridor between Jaldapara and the Buxa Tiger Reserve. Also close by is the Gorumara National Park, known for its population of Indian Rhinoceros.

Gorumara & Chapramari

National Park of Gorumara is nearly 75 kilometers from Siliguri, Chapramari forests nearly 80 kilometers from Siliguri. A visit to the greenery of the nature and resting a few days and nights in the midst of forests, rivers and wildlife will definitely instill new life and inspiration to all. Rare one horned rhinoceros, herd of Gorumara is a National Park in northern West Bengal, India. Located in the Terai region of the Himalayan foothills, it is a medium-sized park with grasslands and forests. It is primarily known for its population of Indian Rhinoceros. The park has been declared as the best among the protected areas in India by the Ministry of Environment and Forests for the year 2009.

Buxa & Jayanti

The Buxa Tiger Reserve is a 760-square-kilometre (290 sq mi) tiger reserve located inside the Buxa National Park in West Bengal, India, in the Buxa hills of the southern hilly area of Bhutan. Animals found in the park include, the tiger, civet, and red jungle fowl The name has been derived from Buxa Fort - a fort at an altitude of 850 meters on the Sinchula Range. Bhutanghat, Buxa Fort, Rajabhatkhawa nature interpretation center, Jayanti, Mendabari, Chilapata are some of the nearby places of interest. There are number of rare and endangered species of animals like leopard, rhinoceros, elephant, make their habitats and other animals includes different types of deer, bison, birds and reptiles. There are Tortoise of various species in the east of Dooars.
